Congratulations on receiving a City of Santa Barbara Arts Grant. The following information is a timeline to assist grant recipients of the City of Santa Barbara Community Arts, Organizational Development, or Events and Festivals grant funds.

REVISED BUDGETS DUE- DECEMBER 1, 2024

Revised budgets serve as the basis for your grant agreement and contract. The revised budget is listed as the two columns on your grant application budget that you did not complete as part of your grant application. You will need to complete the revised budget and upload it in the grants portal and complete the "Revised Budget Report".

CONTRACTS SIGNED AND EXECUTED-December 15, 2024

Once the Office of Arts and Culture has received your revised budget, a grant agreement will be drafted and emailed to the contact person listed in the grants portal. The grant agreement must be signed via DocuSign with the required insurance certificates no later than December 15, 2022.

GRANT PAYMENT DISBURSEMENT: 

CA Grantees: January 1, 2025-December 31, 2025
OD and EF Grantees: CA: January 1, 2025-June 30, 2026

Once your grant contract is fully executed, grant funds will be available on a reimbursement basis for eligible expenses already incurred. You may submit payment requests for up to 90% of the grant award as expenses occur. The remaining 10% may be requested after the project is complete and your final report has been submitted. Requests must be submitted through the grants portal and may take up to 30 days to process.

The City of Santa Barbara proudly supports the Community Arts, Organizational Development, and Events & Festivals grant programs. Please acknowledge the City of Santa Barbara as a funder in all materials announcing or promoting your grant-funded program.

FINAL REPORT DEADLINES:

CA Grantees: December 31, 2025
OD AND EF Grantees: June 30, 2026

Your final report must be submitted through the grants portal by the deadline listed for your grant program.

We strongly encourage all grantees to review the reference evaluations before beginning your project. These examples can be found on our website at:: http://www.sbac.ca.gov/city-grants/

FINAL INVOICE DEADLINES:

CA Grantees: Submit your final report by December 31, 2025

Your final invoice will be processed only after your final report has been completed and approved.

Important: If your project cannot be completed by the deadline stated in your grant agreement, you must request and receive an approved extension before your grant agreement expires.
