Meet the artists: Join us on Saturday, December 20 from 10 a.m. - noon to meet Lead Project Artist, Eduardo Jimenez, and Lead Graphic Artist, Irene Ramirez. Staff will be onsite to answer questions about the project. If you visited, please take our survey!

Weaving workshop: Join us on Saturday, January 10 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. to learn about the Zapateco weaving techniques that will inspire the asphalt art design, share your ideas, and create your own artwork to take home!

Please stay tuned for additional opportunities to participate!

The City of Santa Barbara in collaboration with the Office of Arts and Culture has been awarded $100,000 from Bloomberg Philanthropies to create an asphalt art installation. The project will transform and revitalize the State and Carrillo intersection in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, making it safer for pedestrians and creating a vibrant new home for the Farmer’s Market.
